The tower’s entrance opens up to high-ceiling
lobby spaces on the ground floor. Four floors
of office space contain flexible workstations,
break out spaces and executive areas. A unique
rooftop venue offers spectacular riverfront views.
The mixture of enclosed and open-air spaces
can be used for different occasions like events,
performances and parties.
The cornerstone of the overall design is centered
on the region’s natural environment. The
building’s south side, overlooks the Pearl River
– the third largest river in the China, and the
largest in Guangzhou. The riverfront typology
is emphasized by the tower’s expression of fluid
movement that manifests into a series of fold and
creases. The corner’s sloping arcs are juxtaposed
with the tower’s rectilinear geometry. This is
accented at night, where a continuous band of
light gives the tower a dynamic personality and
illuminates the entire development.
Also known as The Infinity Tower, Shimao’s
new mixed-use high-rise boasts a façade that
resembles a protective shield, spiraling infinitely
around a gently tapered smooth inner square.
Complementing the building’s iconic exterior,
is a flexible interior floorplate that achieves an
average efficiency of 80 percent. Its rectangular
plan responds to the need for efficient internal
space layouts and excellent environmental
performance. Landscaping and greenery on
the rooftop fuse nature and architecture and
provide outdoor leisure spaces. A unique canopy
reduces glazing and direct sunlight. The Shimao
Guangzhou Financial City incorporates all the
elements of a real city: spaces for living and
working, inside as well as outside.
