INSPIR SENIOR LIVING
INSPIR Senior Living is a 23-story, 215-unit assisted living building sited on the Upper East Side’s 2nd Avenue with views of the East River. Working with Maplewood Senior Living and Omega Healthcare, we created a new concept in urban senior living based on the importance of connecting residents with the outdoors and natural light; an essential value, especially for those living in the city.
The concrete exterior was hand-crafted with a board forming technique, providing texture to the surfaces and connecting it with its Upper East Side masonry neighbors. Complementing the concrete structure is warm wood and bronze, as well as large glass window walls.
pecial attention was given to the care floors where glass walls can slide out of the way and residents can enjoy the feeling of sitting in front of a planted balcony with climbing vines. Similar spaces that bridge between indoors and out are featured throughout the building, including in the lobby, the ground floor dining area, the second floor education and amenity area and the sixteenth Floor Sky Park.
